Frequently Asked Questions

What type of law office are you?

We specialize in immigration law, however we will also do wills and trusts, as well as simple divorce cases. We have been doing immigration law for over 30 years. If you have any other case in which you need help, we can gladly refer you to a credible attorney.

My friend told me they know someone who is not a lawyer and does basic family immigration petitions on the side for less cost. Is that okay?

No, anyone who is not a licensed attorney can't charge you and file immigration cases, as it is illegal. We do not recommend it as they are not experts and can make mistakes that can cost you a lot of time and denials in the long run.

Is your office open on weekends?

No, our office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

If I hire you, do you guarantee my case will be approved?

Our office has an extremely high success rate with approvals on cases, however each case is dependent on your evidence, status, complexity and the immigration officer's interpretation. At the beginning of the case, we will give you an honest opinion on the chances of an approval or if the case is not worth filing at all.

Do you accept a payment plan for your attorney fee?

Yes, we can work with you on a payment plan so you can pay off the balance over a time period.

Does your staff speak other languages?

Yes, our staff can also speak Urdu, Spanish, Hindi and Punjabi fluently if you feel more comfortable speaking in your native language.

Do you accept walk-in consultations?

No, all consultations and appointments must be scheduled in advance.

Can I hold a consultation over the phone?

Yes, you can reserve a time to speak with an attorney over the phone or at our office.

Is there a consultation fee?

Yes, for any new case there is a $150 consultation fee and, if you choose to retain our services for your case, that $150 can be credited back to you in the case fee if we are retained within 30 days.

Consultations for an E-2 Investor visa are $250.

Is it necessary for me to have a consultation or can I begin a case right away?

For new cases, it is recommended you set up a consultation in person or over the phone. However, if you already know you are ready to begin your case, we can send you the questionnaire and start case work right away for you.

Once I have hired you for a case, do you note the time taken for my phone calls/emails and bill me like many law offices do?

No, once we are working on your case, you are not charged for the time of phone calls and emails.

Do you accept cases for clients who are not in Michigan?

Yes, we have clients who live all over the world. It is very easy to work on your case for you even if you are in a different state or country.
