Sher M. Akhtar

Attorney Sher M. Akhtar is the founder of Akhtar & Associates, PLC, which is now known as Akhtar & Chavez, PLC. He has over 30 years of immigration law experience and is authorized to practice law by the Supreme Court of Michigan. As a member of American Immigration Lawyers (AILA) and State Bar of Michigan, he has represented thousands of individual and corporate clients in the United States and around the world.

Attorney Akhtar is a graduate of the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law. In addition to his law degree, he received a Master’s in Business Administration from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo. Prior to establishing his own law practice in 1987, Attorney Akhtar worked with General Motors Corporation for 14 years as a Senior Project Engineer and Engineering Group Manager. He is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi languages.
